How to book your photoshoot
So you have decided to have your photo taken by a professional photographer. That’s great,
and I’m not just saying it because you’re reading about it on my blog
Step 1 - What type of photoshoot would you like?
The first step is to choose the type of session you would be interested in. We offer maternity photography, newborn photography, baby photography, children & family photography, cake smash photography or outdoor photography. Once you have made up your mind, please contact me and let me know what you have decided.
Step 2 – Scheduling your photoshoot
Now we need to work out the details. First, we will schedule your photoshoot. The procedure is slightly different, depending on what type of photoshoot you would like. For newborn sessions, I will first need to add your estimated due date to my calendar. After the baby arrives, we will set an exact date. Newborn photoshoots are usually scheduled in the first 2-3-4 weeks after the baby is born. If that’s not possible, don’t worry. I have worked with older babies too.
Most parents usually prefer to book the photo session before the baby arrives, but I usually leave a few extra days open for last-minute bookings.
As for maternity sessions, they are ideally scheduled between week 28 and 35 of the pregnancy.
For baby photography, family photography, maternity photography or cake smash photography please send me a message for available dates.
Please note that for weekend photo sessions, at least two to four weeks’ prior notice is needed.
A non-refundable deposit of £80 (deducted from the session fee) is required to book any type of
photoshoot. Session fees are payable at the time of the booking.
Step 3 – Arranging your photoshoot: preparation, health and safety, duration
A few days before the photoshoot, you will receive an email with the address, a prep guide and a few questions about your colour and set-up preferences.
In my studio, you can find the props we need for a newborn or family photoshoot. I provide wraps, outfits for newborns and babies, hats and headbands, dresses for mums (if needed), and backdrops. Everything you see in the photos on my website can be made available for your photoshoot.
While I will always have plenty of ideas about how to plan our sessions, I also can adjust to your and your baby’s needs. If you have anything in particular you would like in your session, I welcome your suggestions, from a specific theme or style, to the use of colour, materials, and props. In case you have a specific object or objects you would like to bring along and use in the photoshoot, please let me know beforehand so I can think how to best include them in the set-up. My goal for every photo session is to create beautiful images that will represent you and become the highlights of your home.
All clothes are laundered or dry-cleaned, and props and surfaces are sanitized between photoshoots.
A relaxed attitude makes for great photos, so we will do our best to ensure you feel comfortable and at ease. On the day of the session, you can just sit back, relax and let your inner light shine through!
In terms of duration, you can expect the photoshoot to last between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the type of session you have selected and its particular circumstances. Please keep in mind that for newborns and babies, the older the baby is, the longer it might take to fall asleep. For family sessions or maternity sessions, we want the babies or the children to be awake.
Step 4 – Selecting your photos: editing, delivery and copyright
Your digital proofs will be ready 48-60 hours after the photo session. First, you will receive a link to
an online gallery, together with the log-in details. Then, you can select the images you like
the most. If you are not sure which photos to select, I am available to help you decide. The
gallery will have between 20-70 photos to choose from, depending on what package you
have selected.
After you have made your selection, I will edit and deliver the photos within 4-5 weeks.
Please note that the unedited images will not be delivered as a final product on the USB. Any additional edited images can be purchased for £10 per each extra edited photo.
I follow the standard copyright practices for professional photographers. Your images will
not be displayed without your permission. Please do not download any images on my
website without my prior approval.
